MANILA, Philippines — Alas Pilipinas sets out for another historic run as it competes in the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Nations Cup in Vietnam.

The revamped Philippine women’s national volleyball team has a chance to bring home the gold after advancing to the final after eliminating Chinee Taipei in the semifinals on Friday.

The squad looks to boost its world rankings and build on last year’s breakthrough bronze finish—the country’s first AVC medal in 63 years.
