MANILA, Philippines — The Premier Volleyball League isn’t taking kindly to what Alohi Robbins-Hardy said ahead of the 2025 PVL Rookie Draft.
Robbins-Hardy, who was directly signed by Farm Fresh last season, is part of this year’s draft pool after being deemed ineligible to play last conference due to league protocol.

However, she made it clear she has no plans to play for any team other than Farm Fresh.
League president Ricky Palou responded on Tuesday to Robbins-Hardy’s firm stance.
“We will not allow that. She cannot choose the team she wants to play for. She has to go through the draft,” said Palou. “If another team decides to draft her and she refuses to play, there will be sanctions.”
“We still haven’t discussed what those sanctions will be for players who violate the rules. But once you enter the draft, if a team selects you, you either play for that team or you don’t play at all.”

Just days before the draft, Robbins-Hardy revealed in a statement that she won’t suit up for any team other than the Foxies, claiming she already signed a five-year deal with them.
PVL control committee chairman Sherwin Malonzo echoed Palou’s position.
While Malonzo acknowledged that it’s ultimately Robbins-Hardy’s decision, he suggested there would be consequences if she refuses to honor the draft process.
“In case she gets drafted by another team and doesn’t play for at least the next three years, she won’t be playing in the Philippines,” said Malonzo. “That’s my assumption. It’s her decision at the end of the day.”
Palou, Malonzo, and the PVL board are scheduled to meet Wednesday to further discuss Robbins-Hardy’s case, just days before the official draft.
