PVL: Nxled starts rebuild with Jov Fernandez, Janel Delerio deals

MANILA, Philippines —Nxled has started its rebuilding process by signing young opposite spiker Jov Fernandez and libero Janel Delerio ahead of the next PVL conference.
The Chameleons welcomed their newest members on Thursday, hoping to bounce back from a disappointing 1-10 finish in the 2024–25 All-Filipino Conference—the debut campaign of Italian coach Etorre Guidetti. Nxled also faltered in the qualifying and play-in rounds.

With the new signings, Nxled expects a boost in strenght and stability with Fernandez’s firepower and Delerio’s agility.
The Chameleons als holds a 40 percent chance of getting the top pick of the 2025 PVL Rookie Draft in the lottery after being the cellar dwellers of the Reinforced last year and All-Filipino Conferences.
Fernandez recently parted ways with Cignal after just one year.

“All the best! Thank you, Jov Fernandez, for the unforgettable memories and awesome contributions you made to the team. We’re cheering you on as you take on this exciting new journey,” wrote the HD Spikers.
The former UAAP Best Opposite Spiker out of Far Eastern University turned pro in 2023 and joined F2 Logistics before the company decided to disband its volleyball team at the end of the year.
Fernandez is reuniting with fellow former Lady Tamaraw Lycha Ebon, joining Nxled spikers Chiara Permentilla, EJ Laure, May Luna-Lumahan, and Lucille Almonte.

Delerio recently bid farewell to Farm Fresh along with Ckyle Tagsip, Jane Gonzales, and AJ Jingco.
Delerio, a former University of Santo Tomas defensive specialist, will help Rachel Jorvina in protecting the Chameleons’ floor after letting go of veteran libero Bang Pineda, with setter Ivy Perez.

Meanwhile, Erika Santos and PLDT have parted ways after three years.
“The time has come for me to turn the page and embrace a new chapter. I’ve been honored to compete alongside incredible teammates and guided by dedicated coaches,” wrote Santos. “I’m excited for what lies ahead, yet I know I’ll deeply miss our morning gym and practices, our pre-game kulitans, and the simple joy of working toward a shared dream.”
Santos, who got her break as a starting opposite hitter of PLDT, is grateful for the opportunity she earned with her first pro team after her stint at La Salle.
“To my teammates, coaches and management who became family, pushing me to improve, sharing laughter, and never letting me settle for less than my potential. And to the PLDT fans, your encouragement after a loss lifted our spirits, and your celebrations after a win became memories we’ll cherish forever. I am profoundly grateful for each of you,” she said.
